Emily Arnold McCully

Emily Arnold McCully is writer, actor, historian and perhaps best known as the illustrator of the 1993 Caldecott Medalist Mirette on the High Wire, which she also wrote. But that is only one of many awards Including a Christopher Award, the Jane Addams Award, the Giverney Award, and an honorary doctorate from Brown University. In 2012, McCully published Ballerina Swan written by legendary prima ballerina Allegra Kent, which received rave reviews from The New York Times, Kirkus Reviews, and School Library Journal. Emily’s books often feature young girls who display courage, enterprise, and curiosity.
