Micha Archer

Micha Archer is an artist, author and illustrator  living in Western Massachusetts.  Working with oils, acrylics, inks, and collage, she creates layered pieces from various homemade and found materials on paper.

With a B.A. in Multicultural Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst she taught for 15 years in a Kindergarten classroom, and consults with teachers on incorporating art into their classrooms.

Micha has received many awards for her work, including an Ezra Jack Keats Book Award, a 2025 New York Times – New York Public Library

Best Book of the Year, a Massachusetts Book Award and two Caldecott Honors. The Caldecott Award is the oldest and highest honor for American Illustrators. It recognizes the “most distinguished American picture book” for children every year.
