Barry Moser has a staggeringly significant body of work, as a wood engraver, watercolorist and as a book designer. From his Pennyroyal Press fine art books, to his career as an illustrator of children’s books, to the signature achievement of his Pennyroyal-Caxton Bible he has made an indelible mark on 20th century illustration. Now at the milestone birthday of 75, with his memoir, We Were Brothers soon to be released, he is reinventing himself. This collection of abstract works is energetic and fresh and, as the title suggests, totally unexpected.
