Doris Ettlinger
Born in Staten Island, New York, Doris Ettlinger graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and received an MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Doris and her husband, Michael McFadden, artist, teacher and fine craftsman, currently live in a 150-year-old grist mill on the banks of the Musconetcong River in Warren County, New Jersey. Doris spends her days working in her studio and walking their Welch Corgi. In addition to teaching art classes at the Mill, Doris visits schools where she demonstrates her drawing technique to students. She collaborated on the Little House program, producing picture books based on the writings of Laura Ingalls Wilder, and she has spent the last 20 years illustrating for the children’s market, including her latest book, S is for Sea Glass, a collaboration with gallery owner Richard Michelson.
