Zachary Ehrenreich

Zachary Ehrenreich received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Binghamton University in New York in 1976 and then studied for the next three years with Vaclav Vytlacil at the Art Student’s League in New York. It was at that time that he met the graphic artist and sculptor Leonard Baskin. As a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters Leonard nominated Zachary for the Painters Group Show of 1998. Among the notable artists that joined Baskin on the panel in voting for Zachary were Jacob Lawrence and George Segal.

In recent work, Zachary is experimenting with a mixed technique in which he employs the use of tempera and oil and wax emulsion in combination, resulting in an emergent quality that he likens to “figures in the process of becoming.”
