The Pennyroyal Press: Dracula
Thirty copies of this presentation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula have been printed, the Twenty-one illustrations, engraved by Barry Moser, have been printed from the original blocks for the first time and are limited to this production issued in 2011. Bradley Hutchinson was the pressman at Digital Letterpress in Austin, Texas. Elizabeth Kostova, author of the acclaimed novels The Historian, and The Swan Thieves, has contributed a preface to the suite of prints. The types are Mathew Carter’s 1978 Galliard and Rudolf Koch’s 1925 Wilhelm Klingspor Gotisch. The paper is Zerkall Bibel from the Zerkall Paper Mills in Kali, Germany. The first edition of this book was published in 2000, by Harper Collins/Books of Wonder, New York City.
The tray case measures 7.75 x 10 inches. The book measures 6.75 x 9 inches and is 430 pages. The twenty-one engravings are printed on sheets of Mohawk Superfine that measure 7 x 9.25 inches as is the Elizabeth Kostova essay written for this edition.
