The White Cat

I always wanted to create another illustration inspired by my story Papa
Gatto, which is a retelling of an Italian fairy tale. So a number of years after it was published, I created a painting of a scene that took place before the story itself, where Papa Gatto is dueling for the favor of his future wife, the charming and beautiful White Cat. The cats are all garbed in Renaissance period clothing, complete with hats, so I thought it would be perfect for this show.
