Juana Martinez-Neal, is a New York times bestselling illustrator  born in Lima, Peru. Her children’s books have received a Caldecott Honor, a Pura Belpré Medal, an Ezra Jack Keats Honor, and the 2020 Robert F. Sibert Medal for Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story.

Juana now lives in Connecticut with her husband, two sons, daughter, two dogs, and the souls of their late cat, Kitty, and ginormous dog, Puppy.
