Special exhibition of Chinese Books curated by Huan Li
Please join R. Michelson Galleries on May 9th at 2pm for a reading with authors Micha Archer (Wind Watchers), Charles Cohen (Dr. Seuss Lost Stories), and Richard Michelson (Fanny’s Big Idea). Books will be available for purchase and signing following the storytime.
SPECIAL EXHIBITION:
During this time we will also have a special exhibition on view, The 2026 Chinese Original Picture Book Showcase. Since the call for submissions for the touring exhibition project was launched in November 2025, a total of 343 picture book titles (496 volumes) have been received from picture book publishers and creators across China. The submitted works cover a wide range of
themes, including mythological stories, folk tales, traditional Chinese festivals, intangible cultural heritage, children’s
cognition, science education, coming-of-age stories, and character education, fully demonstrating the creative vitality and
cultural depth of contemporary original Chinese picture books. For this exhibition, we have selected representative picture books
from diverse artistic approaches for display.
