Margaret Babbitt

Margaret Babbitt was born in New Haven, CT and educated at Kirkland College (now Hamilton College) where she studied art history and studio art. After college she worked at the Yale University Art Gallery and for a small New York design firm before moving to Cape Cod to focus on her art. Her interest has always centered on shoreline imagery – landscapes, seascapes, and associated architectural forms. Her treatment of these images in watercolor and serigraphy brought early recognition and a rapidly growing audience of collectors throughout the United States, as well as in Europe and Japan.
