Barry Moser: Mark Twain’s Book of Animals
Illustrated by Barry Moser
Illustrations from the trade edition as well as the fine press edition by Pennyroyal Press. Twenty-five impressions of each of the thirty-one prints Barry Moser designed, drew, and engraved for Mark Twain’s Book of Animals have been printed on an archival sheet from the Zerkall Paper Mill in Hürtgenwald-Zerkall, Germany. They were struck by the preeminent American printer, Arthur Larson, at his letterpress studio, Horton Tank Graphics in Hadley, Massachusetts. The prints are signed and numbered from 1 to 25. The impressions numbered from 6 to 25 have been collated into suites that are then laid into a chemise. Prints numbered 1 to 5 are hors commerce. A few individual artist’s proofs are available.
