Nancy Hagin

Nancy Hagin is a contemporary realistic painter. Working in acrylic and watercolor, she is known for her lush hues, exploration of color symmetries and opulent patterns.

Hagin was born in New Jersey in 1940. She received a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in and a MFA from Yale University. From there she went to the Maryland Institute of Art to teach for nine years, with one year off for a Fulbright Grant to Rome. In the 1970s, Hagin moved to New York City and began teaching at the Pratt Institute, the Fashion Institute of Technology and later, the Cooper Union.
