2018 marks 60 years since the launch of the first Paddington book. A Bear Called Paddington was first published in 1958.

R.W. Alley has been the sole Paddington book illustrator for the last 20 years: being the first and only illustrator for all original large scale picture books, as well as illustrator of the last three novels and many other titles in a variety of formats for a total of 39 books!
Diane deGroat created ten Paddington book covers to compliment the previously published novels written by Michael Bond.
