Custom Picture Framer   –   Posted 4/1/2017

Description:
Full time picture framer to work with our head framer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to cutting and joining of frames, mat cutting, wet and dry mounting, glazing, fillets, object mounting, framing of fabrics. Will also be expected to properly pack and ship valuable and sometimes fragile artwork. Must be able to perform all aspects of a museum quality custom framing operation. Weekend hours are required for this position.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will exhibit a fanatical attention to detail and a zeal for productivity. Must be a creative and practical problem solver. Must have good organizational skills and be able to work in a systematic and methodical fashion. Familiarity and proficiency with the tools of the trade is required as well as a basic knowledge of archival framing and hinging techniques and requirements. Must be able to work individually as well as part of a team. Most important: an ability to retain superb quality standards in a fast-paced and demanding environment. We pride ourselves on creative problem-solving. We don’t use the word CAN’T, we find a way.


Art sales and frame design  – Posted 4/1/2017

Description:

Stellar gallery assistant for a fast paced, for-profit art gallery. Must be comfortable interacting with clients and have an ability to inspire confidence and reliability. Will be involved in sales, designing framing for customers, assisting with inventory and storage, including photographing and processing digital images. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing artwork, basic matting and mounting, gallery upkeep, minor video and editing, web site and social media updating, and fielding phone inquiries. Some weekend and evening hours are required for this position.

Qualifications:

Most important: Alert, motivated, organized, personable, and hardworking. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop desired. The successful candidate will have an ability to learn quickly, follow instruction, and be able to multi-task effectively. Sales/retail experience is strongly recommended as the successful candidate will be able to exhibit a deliberate and impeccable professionalism under busy conditions. An understanding of art terms, processes, and basic art history is helpful. Experience with the proper handling and treatment of various forms of original artwork is preferable. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
