Leonard Baskin: Titus Andronicus Colophon

This, the first volume of The Gehenna Shakespeare, illustrated with etchings and wood engravings by Leonard Baskin, is printed on Gehenna-Shakespeare, a paper made for the edition at the Strathmore mills. The etchings were printed by Emiliano Sorini at the Bank Street Atelier. The wood engravings, from the blocks, and the letterpress, in Centaur types were printed by Harold McGrath. The text is based on the Methuen Arden edition. J.C. Maxwell, editor. An especially bound edition of one hundred and fifty copies, numbered I to CL, carries an extra suite of the etchings, each signed by the artist. Two hundred and fifty copies are numbered 1 to 250.
