Leonard Baskin: Othello Colophon

This, the second volume of The Gehenna Shakespeare, illustrated with woodcuts and drawings by Leonard Baskin, is printed on Gehenna-Shakespeare, a paper made for the edition at the Strathmore mills. The woodcuts are printed frm the blocks on Japanese paper. The letterpress, hand-set in Centaur type by Mackenzie & Harris of San Francisco, was printed by Harold McGrath. The text is based on the Methuen Arden edition, M.R. Ridley, editor. Four hundred copies were printed as follows: two hundred with an additional suite of woodcuts, signed by the artist, available only from the Kennedy Galleries in New York, are numbered 1-200. Two hundred bound copies signed by Leonard bAskin in tehh colophon, are numbered I-CC. The work achieved in the winter of mcmlxxiii.
