In addition to Neil Waldman's work as a painter of fine art landscapes, he is also well known as a children's book illustrator. He has illustrated over forty children's books and over one hundred book jackets, including seven Newberry winners. He recently both wrote and illustrated Wounded Knee, The Starry Night, Masada, and The Golden City. His latest book is a collaboration with gallery owner Richard Michelson called Too Young for Yiddish.
