Crow II
Ink and Watercolor
1958

This early painting is unusual in the fact that the talons are hidden. Though often prominent, sometimes dominant, features in his work, Baskin here uses their absence to great effect. The work was chosen for publication in George Brazilier’s 1970 book; Baskin – Sculpture, Drawings, Prints.
