On Yom Kippur it is Sealed
Gouache
1991

As an atheist from a religious family, both Baskin’s father and brother were Rabbis, Baskin did not attend religious services. He often, however, created a Yom Kippur painting to mark the day in his own studio. Works completed on this day were always among Baskin’s strongest images.
