Red Flower
Etching
1970

Often thought to be atypical of his subject matter, Baskin actually did numerous floral works in print form, watercolor, and bronze. He has explored the forms of Irises, Thistles, Weeds and a range of flowers, both in books of his own composition, and as companions to poems by Ted Hughes, Jose Yglesias, Anthony Hecht, and others.
