T.E. (Thomas Eakins)

Baskin did countless portraits of Eakins, feeling
an artistic kinship. He said that what set Eakins
apart was “. . . the glorious monumentality
of his work . . . for the strength and passion of
his beliefs, and for his prideful stance against the
yapping stupidity of his philistinic attackers.”
Portraits of homage comprise a large portion of Baskin’s
work in all mediums. Other images of Eakins as well
as other artists are available.
